Teaching and Mentorship

Serious about taking your musicianship to the next level? At my studio in North Hollywood you'll dive into the foundations of music and learn what it takes to be a professional today. You will develop your own unique feel behind your instrument, as my programs are uniquely crafted to match the goals of each student. I typically work with players no younger than 12 and up through adults, although exceptions can be made for kids younger than 12 who are highly proficient and motivated. We cover a broad range of topics - ear training, technique, music theory, reading music, recording, chops, and advanced time signatures - applications stretch across all genres and settings of music. With over a decade of international performing experience, you receive practicality in my instruction and mentorship that is rarely found in music education. Even if your goal is not to become a professional, you will see results quickly with a customized practice regimen.  For older, more advanced individuals pursuing a professional career, I also cover subjects such as music business, production, music direction, solo-entrepreneurship, and navigating the politics of working and networking in Los Angeles.

Are you a band that needs a space to rehearse/record, and wants mentorship and feedback?

See below offerings:

"My 14 year old was ready for a step up in his drum lessons, and as soon as he saw Eli's studio I knew it was a great fit. He is always excited for his lesson (he actually practices now), and his band teachers have even commented on his improvement!"

Lesson Packages
and what they include

1. The Test Run- Free

15-20 Minutes

Hey there! Curious about lessons with me? This no-commitment option is a great place to start.  We'll assess your level and goals, get to know each other, and play a bit. This can also be done via phone.

3. The One Off [Extended]

90-100 min - $200

The same as The One Off, but for students who desire a longer session, allowing more time to explore deeper into the concepts, and we will do drills for longer - similar to working out with a personal trainer. You also go home with a high fidelity audio recording of your lesson.

5. Ten Lesson Bundle - $1400 (10-20 weeks)

75 min

This is a bundle of 10, 75 minute lessons, and is for someone who plans to attend lessons once per week or once every other week.  The lowest price per lesson I offer.

7. Band Mentorship

$ Call to discuss

Weekly

I will mentor you and/or your band, assist with arranging and musical direction for you, and importantly teach you how to be professionals and get ahead.  I will show you how an efficient rehearsal is supposed to go, and coach each of your members into being better performers and better humans.  You'll learn how to get better performances out of yourself, and you'll learn how to navigate the business world as an artist as well.

Your band rehearses once per week at my studio, under my guidance, and you get to hear and analyze recordings of your rehearsal performances.

2. The One Off - $165

75 min

The One Off is perfect for someone who intends to take a lesson less than once per month, or an adult who just wants a one time lesson to help them identify areas to practice and how to do so.

4. The Triple - $450

75 min

Three 75 minute lessons with me, at a discounted rate, spaced out however you choose.  Bulk pricing.

6. The Full Package - $2200 (12 weeks)

75 Min

The most robust package I offer. This package is for someone who plans to attend lessons weekly. Includes everything mentioned previously, but 12 lessons, exclusive backstage access to applicable LA performances, career mentorship, regular text/phone conversations, and includes one (per package) fully produced, mixed, and video recorded cover song of the students choosing for free use on social media, youtube, college auditions, or personal use. You will also get to take home audio recordings from your weekly lessons to follow along with the exercises, and listen back to your playing to analyze yourself.
